New York Home and Heritage is an online magazine about life in Upstate New York. The magazine explores the people and places that have given New York it’s history, who make it an exciting and vibrant place to live and visit, and for the people and programs that work towards Upstate New York’s future.
New York Home and Heritage Magazine will be published online monthly. Features in each issue will include Upstate New York State’s communities, history, arts, nature and conservation, architecture, preservation, homes and gardens, agriculture, small business, children’s activities and issues, events and travel, among others.
New York Home and Heritage is looking for articles to feature in our upcoming issues. Presently in our final development stages, New York Home and Heritage Magazine will offer the first of its monthly issues in April of 2007. The magazine will be available online in its entirety, free to our readers. This is not a project backed by a big company with huge development and production funds, but is a small non-for profit organization hoping to put together a successful magazine that will appeal to a wide range of readers. We hope to find the support of our readers, organizations, businesses and communities across the state, through active involvement in our magazine. New York Home and Heritage hopes to not only create the online magazine, but also to organize and support a variety of community programs and events across the state.
We hope to find contributors and writers with a talent and passion in their field of interest. The challenge in creating an informative and interesting monthly magazine is obvious. Even more important to us is to put together a magazine that we hope will not only inform, educate and inspire our readers about today’s Upstate New York, but will also serve as a common ground on which people across the state can remember our past, and work towards creating our future.
As I mentioned above, our web site and magazine will be opened to the public and unveiled in April. We need quality contributions in the following monthly feature areas….Upstate New York State’s communities, history, arts, nature and conservation, architecture, preservation, homes and gardens, agriculture, small business, children’s activities and issues, events and travel. We are also looking for folks interested in writing articles in other areas pertaining to life and issues for Upstate New York, for writing ongoing columns, for photography and other related needs.
